Benny
Born with a spirit of gentle resilience, Benny’s journey with us began when he was found orphaned in a nearby town. As a tiny fawn, he discovered the most unexpected comfort in our trio of Indian Runner Ducks: Pip, Squeak, and Squirt. The four of them became an inseparable crew, spending their days playing together in the garden, sharing meals, and snuggling side-by-side in the safety of the shed at night. As Benny grew into a handsome buck, his bond with Pip only deepened. Today, it’s a common and heartwarming sight to see Pip hopping right up onto the front porch to share a cozy spot on Benny’s bed. While the ducks hold a truly special place in his heart, Benny’s circle of trust stretches across the entire sanctuary. He has formed a wonderful friendship with our Golden Retrievers, Junie and Kai, eagerly joining them and our family cats for daily adventures. Whether he is trotting along the paths surrounded by his canine and feline companions or resting on the porch with his favorite duck, Benny’s life is a beautiful example of the boundary-breaking connections that make Brown Hiking Trails so magical.
