G-Bro
G-Bro was more than just our family’s Golden Retriever; he was a true friend to every living soul that stepped onto this land. Growing up alongside our children, his gentle, patient nature became the foundation of our entire sanctuary. G-Bro possessed an extraordinary capacity for love, famously stepping into the role of a protective "stepdad" to Buttons’ many fawns. Whenever Buttons brought her newborns up to the house, she did so with complete confidence, knowing they were entirely safe under G-Bro's watchful, tender care. He truly set the tone of peace and trust that defines our woods today. His boundless love for hiking through the trees and splashing in the water actually became the driving inspiration behind everything we've built. In fact, G-Bro is the very reason my husband first began clearing the trails and shaping the land. To honor his adventurous spirit, our largest and most scenic body of water is proudly named G-Bro’s Pond. His unique name—born from a combination of my son’s initial "G" and the first three letters of our family name—is forever etched into the heart of this sanctuary. Though he is deeply missed every single day, G-Bro’s legacy lives on in every splash in the pond and every joyful step taken along the paths he inspired.
